A total 25 houses will take part in this year’s Mega Yard Sale, which is being held May 5 in Douglas Manor, the event’s coordinator said. Maps of the participating homes will be available at Giftalicious, Douglas Manor Association and Station Realty during the sale, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., said Carol Panagi, who is running the event, but is also a member of the DMA and the Local Development Corporation. “It’s becoming very much looked forward to by people,” Panagi said of the yard sale, which is in its third year. “A lot of people turn up for it. The Kralj brothers are planning to teach Douglaston’s residents to protect themselves, respect others and get in a great workout in the process. Team Kralj, located at 40-35 235th St., is a new mixed martial arts studio that is opening its doors Thursday. It was a lot of fun, sweat, and great way to relieve the stress. Just hit the bag as hard as you and release the stress, PLUS you get a workout too. The atmosphere was nice and the teachers very friendly. They push you but are not drill sargents. I am going to recommend it to everyone. I left the place energetic and ready for more.   more ›
