It was a busy week for news in Douglaston.

The Little Neck Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps talked with Patch about a fundraiser brunch at Strawberry’s Sports Grill and state Assemblyman Rory Lancman, D-Fresh Meadows, announced that he would challenge U.S. Rep. Bob Turner, R-Forest Hills, for his seat.

The 111th Precinct introduced its new captain, Jason Huerta, and Capt. Ron Leyson bade farewell to northeast Queens at Community Board 11’s monthly meeting.

At that meeting, CB 11 also voted in favor of the Douglaston Green Market’s application for summer 2012.

Capt. Leyson shows up at CB 11’s meeting to say goodbye to the community and introduces Capt. Huerta.

Rory Lancman announces his candidacy for the Ninth District’s upcoming election.

Wednesday
