Douglaston Woman Promoted to Major in National Guard

A Douglaston woman has been promoted to the rank of major with the New York Army National Guard.
Janet Erazo has been serving with the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
She was promoted to major due to recognition of her capability for additional responsibility and leadership, said General Patrick Murphy, the adjutant general for New York.
Promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and developmental potential.
